Freilauf Podcast #14: Martina Anger: The first bike trip with the cargo bike was immediately a „holiday for the brain“

Martina and her husband hadn't expected that this particular cargo bike trip would end up in first place in their family's travel ranking. And they had already traveled extensively around the world.

„"This is one of the best holidays we have ever had…!"“

Last summer, Martina, her husband, and their two children, then two and five years old, embarked on their first cycling trip. They set off directly from their front door in Premstätten, traveling by cargo bike through their native Austria. From southern Styria to Burgenland, to Lake Neusiedl, and back again. They were on the road for two weeks, on a journey that was much more than just a simple bike tour for the family.

This experience was worth everything.

Quite a leap into the unknown with two small children! But the family adventure welcomed Martina with open arms. Even after purchasing the cargo bike, she was already toying with the idea of traveling somewhere by bicycle. Initially, she envisioned shorter trips. "Will it all work out?" Despite her initial concerns and the effort involved in planning, the experience was absolutely worth it. "It was so much fun," Martina recalls, adding that her husband is already planning another trip.

The children are fascinated, the man is thrilled.

Martina's children were fascinated by the new discoveries along the route, and her husband described the trip as "one of the most beautiful holidays of their lives!" This journey was a true "vacation for the mind" for Martina and her whole family—a way to fully experience the beauty of their surroundings and the moment.
