Freilauf Podcast #5:
Don't test, do!
Jürgen Hofer as #Stayrider
Jürgen Hofer had never really traveled with luggage on his bicycle before, when he set off on a 14,500 km journey around Europe in May 2022. And he did it all in two months!
Jürgen has long been a passionate extreme sports enthusiast, but this time he wasn't motivated (solely) by sporting ambition. It was the support of the foundation. Stay, for which he works. With this extreme journey, Jürgen wanted to draw attention to the foundation's development aid in Africa and raise funds.
In our conversation, Jürgen talks about his experiences during his time on tour. His experiences, emotions, and what—or rather, who—inspires him most: people! Listen to the full interview now!
Since May 4th, Jürgen has been back on a fundraising tour to raise awareness for the Stay Foundation and its work. The foundation's development programs help the poorest families in Kenya and Uganda to generate sustainable incomes and thus become financially independent in the long term. With your donation, you can enable a family to receive agricultural training and help people break the cycle of poverty in their communities.
Under https://stay-stiftung.org/ Here you will find all the information about the foundation and the opportunity to donate.
Follow Jürgen on his current journey Jürgen plans to travel to Istanbul, across the Bosporus into Asian Turkey. From there, he intends to travel through as many neighboring countries as possible, via Greece, back to Stuttgart, where he started his journey. His goal is to cover approximately 250 kilometers per day.
