Freilauf Podcast #2:
Cycling trips are an inspiration for her art

Christina Hohenwarter

The inspiration for her works comes from the artist Christina Hohenwarter In nature. Her abstract paintings are intended to reconnect people with their personal places of power, bringing them relaxation and balance. On her cycling trips, Christina seeks a connection to the landscape and the local people, finding inspiration for her art.

Many of her paintings symbolize water: for Christina, it is not only a source of strength and inspiration, but also an important guide on her cycling trips, not always without “oops”.

Cycling through Spain

Christina's longest cycling trip to date took her through Spain to Portugal over several months. Her impressions of the region and her encounters with the people created a deep connection to the country. In November 2022, Christina participated in a group exhibition in Madrid with some of her works.

The “great love” in the saddle

Two encounters during her cycling trip through Spain completely changed Christina Hohenwarter's life: meeting her "great love," her now-husband, with whom she has two children, and adopting her street dog, Pino. Listen to the whole story now!
